Learn how to quickly deploy to GitHub using a fork. Describe working locally, using the built in server.
- File Structure ( 50 - 55 minutes)
Understanding how the files are organized in apprentice helps a lot in using it. This unit covers the basic structure of apprentice, describing the function of\ the most important files and folders.
- Configuration ( 55 - 65 minutes)
Change the configuration settings for your workshop.
Emphasize that the server needs to be restarted with any change in
_config.yml
.- Prerequisites and Objectives ( 65 - 80 minutes)
Set up prerequisites and learning objectives to help potential learners decide if the course is right for them.
- Creating Units ( 80 - 110 minutes)
In apprentice, nits are the primary building block of a workshop. The units can be what you want, but typically they would be something like steps in a tutorial or discrete tasks in a workshop. We’ll learn how to create, and configure workshops to fit your needs.

- Instructors' Notes ( 110 - 125 minutes)
Instructors’ notes provide a way to plan and organize the content of the a hands-on workshop, including setting up and a timeline. It also allows for easier sharing of workshops, recording much of the knowledge that can often be lost.
- Presentation Slides ( 125 - 140 minutes)
Often a workshop will require some presentation slides. This describes how to create a slide deck.
- Pages and Page Layouts ( 140 - 160 minutes)
You can change layouts, add pages or change the style of your workshop relatively easy with just a little knowledge of CSS and HTML.
- Styling ( 160 - 175 minutes)
With just a little knowledge of CSS and HTML you can change the look of your pages.
